| Any tips for those competing |
It is important to maintain target pace from the start as it is very easy to get a little excited and go out too hard and then pay for it later. The marathon challenge is at its best in the final 20km so be sure to believe in yourself, break down the distance in your mind and enjoy the experience of the marathon. It will soon be time to turn your dream into reality and discover that anything is possible! Happy running |
| What does your training involve |
I have been running a marathon a month for the last three years and this will continue in the lead up to the 2011 Brisbane Marathon. In addition, the weekly training consists of 4km – 30km runs, spin training, cardio training and recovery massages |
| What is your inspiration at Brisbane |
The Brisbane Marathon is a real community event and this year more than most will be the perfect opportunity to bring together a city, state and country following the devastation of the floods earlier this year. Having previously lived in Brisbane and the Gold Coast I am very much looking forward to returning to Brisbane to share in a special experience for all. |
| Anything else you want others to know |
The Brisbane Marathon will be the latest event to continue the “Marathon Man” mission to run on average a marathon a month to raise awareness and support for Facing Africa. Please see www.marathonman.com.au for further information and be sure to say hello. |
